Composite Footwear

Composite footwear replace traditional steel toecaps with reinforced, light weight materials like kevlar or carbon fibre, but still conform to European standards for PPE.  Under the safety standard EN ISO 20345 : 2011, all safety footwear must be able to protect the user’s toes from a 200 joule impact.

The metal-free design of composite safety shoes makes them ideally suited for restricted access or security roles.  For example, they can be used where metal detectors are used, like airports and power plants.
